I was a child, just like you
I coloured my hair and baked too.
I painted pictures of the world…
Until it all unfurled.
You called me a fool,
And that I am not cool
You said I must stay away too.
But I was a child, just like you.
Though death is what most dread,
A minute longer I could not tread.
And though I tried not to care
It just… wasn’t fair.
As I stood at the edge,
I thought a second time. But Alas!
You pushed me off the ledge.
Though I was a child, just like you.
